“THE GUARDIAN”: DОRĆOL IN BELGRADE IS ONE OF THE "10 OF THE COOLEST NEIGHBORHOODS IN EUROPE” |
The British daily “The Guardian” emphasizes that in between the touristy Skadarlija quarter, the huge Kalemegdan fortress and banks of the Danube, “Dorćol has a comfortable air”.
„The Guardian“ points out that Dorćol has always been the pace-setter for the city’s bars and restaurants. This is classic bar territory, with new openings and old favourites alike squeezed into streets such as Strahinjića Bana, Kneginje Ljubice and Kralja Petra.
Тhe Guardian also highlights the architecture of Dorćol – „The tree-lined streets of its southern part – Gornji (Upper) Dorćol – have the usual Belgrade hotchpotch of early 20th-century villas and Tito-era flats, with the occasional art nouveau beauty“. „Dorćol Platz” is recommended as a place to visit because it offers "something for everyone", with a special emphasis on Museum of Science and Technology and a footpath along the Danube.
