VISAS
At its meeting of 30 October 2014, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decision on visa free entry to the Republic of Serbia for holders of foreign passports having a valid Schengen, UK and other Member States' visa, or visa of the United States of America, and for holders of foreign passports having residence permit in the countries of the Schengen area, EU or the United States of America, which was published in the "Official Gazette of RS", No. 119 of 31 October 2014 and which will enter into force on 8 November 2014. Before travelling to the Republic of Serbia, please read HERE general entry requirements. Citizens of the Swiss Confederation traveling to the Republic of Serbia do not need visas (up to 90 days). Swiss citizens can also use Swiss ID-card to enter Serbia. All holders of Swiss Confederation travel documents for aliens or refugees require an entry visa for the Republic of Serbia. Legal entities and individuals providing accommodation for foreign nationals with financial compensation, as well as persons being visited by foreign nationals, are required to register with the competent authority the visit of the foreign national within 24 hours from the provision of accommodation to a foreign national, or from the time of arrival of a foreign national for visiting purposes. The foreign national is required to register with the relevant authority his/her stay at, and change of address of residence, within 24 hours from the date of arrival in the place of residence or from the date of the change of address of his/her stay. The foreign national who has been granted permanent resident status is required to register his/her domicile and change of abode, within eight days from the date of arrival in the domicile or from the date of the change of the address. Visas can be requested by submitting an application to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia (in person - NOT by E-Mail, phone of via post).
C - Short stay visa D - Temporary residence visa The visa application must be submitted at least 20 calendar days before the scheduled visit, and may not be submitted earlier than 3 months before the scheduled visit.
VISA C (Short stay in Serbia up to 90 days):
VISA D (Temporary residence visa - staying in Serbia more than 90 days) Holders of passports of countries requiring a visa to enter Serbia, who have a regulated stay in Switzerland (for example Ethiopian passport + residence permit "C") who intend to stay in Serbia for more than 90 days, must obtain a "D" visa at the competent embassy or consulate of the Republic Serbia so that they can regulate their stay in Serbia.
On the other hand, holders of passports of countries that normally enter Serbia without a visa (for example, a passport of France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, USA...) and who wish to stay in Serbia for more than 90 days, can apply for a "D“ visa directly at the Foreign Ministry Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (Savska 35, 11000 Belgrade) upon arrival in Serbia and do not have to apply for a visa at the diplomatic missions and consular posts of Serbia abroad. The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applying for a visa does not imply its automatic approval, nor is an issued visa a guarantee that a person will be granted entry to the Republic of Serbia.
