SCREENING OF THE FILM "SERBIA IN THE GREAT WAR", November 30th,2018 @ 5 December 2018 11:04 AM
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Swiss Confederation marked the centenary of the end of the First World War by the screening of the documentary "Serbia in the Great War" on 30th November,2018.
This documentary is analyzing the role of Serbia in the First World War with the expertise of domestic and foreign historians, the most important moments in the period from 1914 to 1918, and the crucial battles that the Serbian army fought over those years.
The evening was opened by Ambassador Snežana Janković, who stressed out that Serbia lost one third of its entire population and over 50% of its male population in the Great War. She pointed out that it is the duty of all of us to keep the memory of the heroic deads of our ancestors in the Great War, and to offer our respect to the victims whose patriotism and dedication are still inspiring us.
The screening was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and Serbian diaspora.
