Today, under the authorization and order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selaković, the Ambassador of Serbia in Switzerland Goran Bradić signed an agreement with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Boro Bronza on the purchase of a co-ownership share (15%) on the building of the former Yugoslav Republic.


Thus, Serbia has fully achieved 100% ownership over the building in which are located the Embassy, the Consular Department and the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Switzerland.


Agreements on the purchase of shares of the Republic of Slovenia (14%) and Northern Macedonia (8%) were signed on 7 and 21 December 2021, while the agreement with the Republic of Croatia (23.5%) was signed on 2 February 2022.


The facility in Bern, with an area of slightly more than 1,800 m2, was built by the company "Energoprojekt" in 1978. In 2017, the canton of Bern included the building, whose value is officially estimated at 7,780,000 Swiss francs, in the list of protected cultural assets.


The building of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva was registered in January 2020 as the property of the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with the agreement of the former Yugoslav republics, based on Annex "B" of the Succession Agreement.
