Temporary stay abroad
In accordance with the Residence Law, citizens of the Republic of Serbia may submit a request for temporary stay abroad for more than 90 days through the diplomatic mission. Article 19, paragraph 2 of the Law stipulates that “citizens who go abroad with the intention of continuously staying abroad for no longer than 90 days and extend their stay are obliged to report their temporary stay abroad for more than 90 days to the competent authority through diplomatic-consular representation ”.
The request is submitted on the prescribed form: https://www.mfa.gov.rs/sites/default/files/inline-files/Obrazac_8_-_Pri…, with which it is necessary to attach a document on the basis of which the identity of the applicant is determined - passport or ID card.
A citizen who emigrates abroad is obliged to deregister his residence in the Republic of Serbia, for which he is issued an appropriate certificate.
An application for a temporary stay abroad for a minor is submitted by one of the parents if the parents have the same residential address.
In the case when the parents do not have the same residential address, the application for a minor is signed by both parents or one parent with the written consent of the other parent.
Deregistration of residence due to emigration from the Republic of Serbia
Pursuant to the provisions of the same Law, a request for deregistration of residence for the purpose of eviction from the Republic of Serbia is submitted in person at the place of residence.
In exceptional cases, a request for deregistration of residence can be submitted through the diplomatic-consular mission, if the person is already abroad and for justified reasons is not able to come to the Republic of Serbia. Exceptional situations are considered: illness, disability, restriction or prohibition of movement as in the current conditions of the corona pandemic and alike.
The request is submitted on the prescribed form: https://www.mfa.gov.rs/sites/default/files/inline-files/Obrazac_3_-Odja…, accompanied by the following:

· Proof of impediment to arrival in the Republic of Serbia,
· Written statement of the applicant in free form in which the person declares that he is leaving the Republic of Serbia,
