Ambassador Dr Ivan Trifunović at the New Year’s reception hosted by the President of the Swiss Confederation

The ceremonial reception, which traditionally marks the beginning of the diplomatic year in the Swiss Confederation, brought together a large number of heads of mission and senior representatives of federal institutions. On this occasion, President Parmelin conveyed New Year’s greetings to the diplomatic corps, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, dialogue, and mutual understanding in addressing contemporary global challenges.

During the reception, Ambassador Trifunović had a brief and cordial conversation with President Parmelin, to whom he extended New Year’s greetings and wished success in the performance of his presidential duties. On that occasion, the Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the continued strengthening of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation.

The Ambassador highlighted the upward trajectory of bilateral relations, as evidenced by intensified contacts between officials of the two countries at a high level, as well as the increased number of members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Switzerland–Serbia in the Swiss Parliament.

The interlocutors agreed that there is significant potential for further deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, to the benefit of the citizens of both countries.
