Ambassador Trifunović Attends the 26th Children’s Festival of Serbian Folklore | Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Swiss Confederation

The Children’s Festival of Serbian Folklore, which once again gathered a large number of guests, representatives of cultural and artistic associations, and young folklore performers, reaffirmed the commitment to preserving Serbian culture and tradition beyond the borders of the homeland. The event, dedicated to honoring the memory of ancestors and safeguarding language and customs, carries an additional mission—to strengthen the ties of young people with their roots, so that they know who they are and where they come from, no matter where in the world they may live.

At the ceremonial opening, Ambassador Dr. Ivan Trifunović addressed the audience with words of praise for the organizers, associations, and above all, the young participants. He stated: “This wonderful celebration has an important dimension - it shows the humane, warm, and creative face of the Serbian people and Serbia. That is why I want to say clearly: you are the best ambassadors of our country.” He emphasized that the young folklore performers demonstrate that love for the homeland does not mean being closed off - instead, it represents openness, pride, and a willingness to share the most beautiful elements of one’s own tradition with others.

The festival served as an important venue for bringing the Serbian community together, nurturing tradition, and creating new friendships in an environment that represents a significant meeting point for our diaspora. In conclusion, the Ambassador underlined: “The doors of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Bern are always open to you -this is your home, the place where Serbia comes to you. We are here to serve the citizens of Serbia.”
