Ambassador Trifunović met with State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Alexandre Fasel

In a cordial and constructive conversation, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Swiss Confederation, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest – political dialogue, economy and trade, culture, education, as well as science.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of science in diplomacy, which represents one of the priorities of the Swiss Government, with both sides expressing readiness to further strengthen cooperation in this field.

Ambassador Trifunović took the opportunity to thank State Secretary Fazel for the contribution and engagement of the Swiss SWISSCOY contingent within KFOR in maintaining peace and security in Serbia’s southern province, Kosovo and Metohija. On this occasion, the Ambassador also pointed out the difficult situation of the non-Albanian population and expressed concern over the violation of their fundamental human rights. He shared his personal impressions of the difficult position of the Serbs, which he witnessed during his visit to Kosovo and Metohija in 2024.
