Celebration of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia at the Embassy in Bern

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Swiss Confederation organized a reception on the occasion of Statehood Day, on the 13th of May in the ceremonial hall of the Embassy.

The program began with the intonation of the anthems of Serbia, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, performed by opera singer Danijela Bjelica from Zurich and violinist Tatjana Vucelic from Basel.

Ambassador Bradić welcomed the attendees, reviewing bilateral relations over the past year, emphasizing that there has been an intensification of political cooperation and a further increase in trade, especially in the field of ICT services, which exceeded two billion CHF. He recalled the visits of Swiss officials to Serbia and the meetings of Serbian state officials with high-ranking representatives of the host country. Ambassador Bradić particularly emphasized the fact that Switzerland is the first country to officially confirm its participation in the specialized world exhibition "EXPO 2027" in Belgrade.

In his address to the Serbian diaspora, Ambassador Bradić emphasized that stability, peace and unity in the country, as well as cooperation in the region and fostering good relations with the most important partners in the world, represent the pillars of the domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Serbia. 

Among the guests present were the Chief of Protocol, Ambassador T. Bileter, the Head of the Eurasia Sector, M. Penevir, as well as several other diplomats from the Swiss Foreign Ministry. The reception was also attended by: Doyen Dip. The Vatican Ambassador, ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Jordan, South Africa, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey... the Ambassadors of China, the USA, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Iran, the EU Mission in Switzerland, diplomats of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Great Britain... Representatives of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and the Organization for International Rail Transport (OTIF), the Serbian Orthodox Church, several diaspora clubs and associations, economic associations, colleagues from the General Secretariat of the Republic of Serbia in Zurich and other guests.

The guests were also shown a video message from MSP Marko Đurić on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, which spoke about the historical significance of Sretenje and the Sretenje Constitution, as well as Serbia's geopolitical goals.

Afterwards, a cocktail party was held, and the beauty of Serbia, tourist and historical landmarks, as well as advertising spots for "EXPO 2027" and "BIO4 campus" were shown on the video screen.

All costs of celebrating the Statehood Day were covered by donations from Stadler Rail AG and JT International SA.
