Delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia Visits the Canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland
The discussions explored opportunities to strengthen economic ties, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the potential for establishing new contacts between businesses and institutions.
Particular attention was devoted to opportunities for cooperation between the archaeological site of Viminacium in Serbia and the Roman city of Augusta Raurica in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. These two important archaeological sites represent a valuable part of Europe’s shared cultural and historical heritage from the Roman period and offer significant opportunities for cooperation in archaeological research, the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, the protection and presentation of cultural heritage, and the development of joint cultural and educational projects.
Such cooperation could also contribute to the promotion of cultural tourism and to strengthening ties between scientific and cultural institutions in Serbia and Switzerland.
The participants exchanged views on prospects for further cooperation and highlighted the importance of strengthening connections in areas of mutual interest, making use of existing potential to further enhance bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by all members of the Cantonal Government, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Switzerland, Ivan Trifunović, and First Counsellors of the Embassy, Bojan Stojanović and Dmitar Stanišić.
