Ms. Tatjana Macura, Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia responsible for coordinating activities in the fields of gender equality, prevention of violence against women, and the economic and political empowerment of women, paid a working visit to Switzerland from 7 to 9 September 2026.

During the visit, Minister Macura met with Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs. The discussions focused on gender equality, the status and empowerment of women, the prevention of violence, as well as opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland in these areas. The two sides also explored possibilities for a more structured exchange of experience and good practices.

As part of her working programme, Minister Macura visited the Federal Commission for Women’s Issues (FCWI/EKF) and the Women’s Shelter in Bern, where she was briefed on Swiss institutional mechanisms in the field of gender equality and the system of protection and support for women and children affected by domestic and gender-based violence.

Particular attention was devoted to child protection and the prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation in the digital environment. During meetings with representatives of the Guido Fluri Foundation and Kinderschutz Schweiz, the clickandstop.ch platform and the prevention programme Mein Körper gehört mir!” (“My Body Belongs to Me!”) were presented.

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange experience and explore possibilities for further cooperation between Serbian and Swiss institutions and organisations in the fields of gender equality, prevention of violence, and the protection of women and children.
