State Secretary Jović with Members of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation

24. Nov 2025.
The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Damjan Jović, met today with members of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation, Andreas Glarner and Christian Imark, the President of the Serbia–Switzerland Friendship Group. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Serbia to Switzerland, Ivan Trifunović, as well as the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Serbia, Anne Lugon-Moulin.

The meeting confirmed the shared commitment to further advancing bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest, including interparliamentary cooperation. In light of next year’s commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Switzerland, the participants discussed opportunities for intensifying political dialogue and planning activities that will further strengthen the partnership between the two countries.

Given the significant presence of Swiss companies in Serbia, as well as Switzerland’s confirmed participation in the Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade, the talks highlighted prospects for strengthening economic ties, primarily in the fields of new technologies, science, and education.

State Secretary Jović informed his interlocutors about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the challenges faced by the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church. He also expressed gratitude for the engagement of the Swiss contingent within the KFOR mission, which makes an important contribution to security on the ground.
