Visit of Ambassador Ivan Trifunović to CERN

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Switzerland, Mr. Ivan Trifunović, paid an official visit to CERN, where he held a meeting with the newly appointed Director-General, Prof. Mark Thomson, as well as with Serbian scientists led by Prof. Petar Adžić.
During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing the participation of Serbian companies in CERN procurement processes and on opportunities for deeper integration of Serbia into its scientific programs.
The delegation toured key CERN facilities, including the CMS detector located 100 meters underground at Point 5 in Cessy, France, where Serbian physicists from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Belgrade have been contributing since 2000, as well as the ATLAS control room and the Science Gateway exhibition.
This visit underscores Serbia’s commitment to advancing scientific excellence and international cooperation, as well as the Embassy’s dedication to fostering stronger links between research, innovation, and industry.
