Visit of the President of Switzerland and statements by Ambassador Trifunović in the “Echo der Zeit” program

In the same segment, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bern emphasized that bilateral relations between the two countries are good, stable, and continuously developing, particularly in the field of economics. He stressed that there is mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation, along with regular and substantive contacts between institutions and the business community. He also pointed to growing interest in new investment projects and the deepening of partnerships across various sectors.

The Ambassador noted that Serbia and Switzerland are small European countries seeking to navigate a period of tectonic geopolitical shifts. While Switzerland and Serbia differ in many respects, both belong to a shrinking group of European states that maintain military neutrality.

Addressing the domestic situation in Serbia, the Ambassador stated that protests do exist, but that institutions are functioning smoothly and the state remains stable. He underlined that the system operates without disruption and that all political processes take place within the institutional framework.

Referring to criticism from the international community, including the EU, the Ambassador stated that Serbia approaches these issues in a constructive and responsible manner. He emphasized the importance of dialogue with international partners, open consideration of differing views, preservation of stability, and continued reform efforts.
