Đurić with the Serbia-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić, as part of his visit to Bern, visited the Parliament of the Swiss Confederation and spoke with members of the Serbia-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Minister Đurić emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that relations between Serbia and Switzerland are based on mutual respect, common interests and strong ties of the Serbian diaspora in Switzerland. 

Minister Đurić stated that Serbia appreciates Swiss support in the reform process, as well as assistance in the areas of economic development, education and institutional strengthening. 

When it comes to the situation in the region, the head of Serbian diplomacy assessed that Serbia is committed to developing good neighborly relations and contributing to regional stability through economic and infrastructure projects, which enable better development opportunities and faster growth. 

Đurić also informed his interlocutors about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the state of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, particularly pointing out the unilateral moves and continuous provocations to which the Serbian people are exposed. 

Opinions were exchanged on improving parliamentary cooperation, economic and investment potential, as well as the importance of joint action in addressing global challenges. 

The members of the Swiss Parliament expressed their willingness to continue to support bilateral relations and emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening friendship between the two countries. It was emphasized that there is room for further improvement of cooperation, both bilaterally and within international forums. 

The meeting of the Serbia-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group, led by co-chairman Imark Christian, was also attended by members from the Swiss People's Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the Green Liberal Party.
