Swiss newspaper "Die Weltwoche" published an article about the suffering of Serbs during the operation "Storm"
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the criminal operation "Storm", the author points out the tragic consequences of that action for the Serbian population, describing it as the largest ethnic cleansing in Europe since World War II. The text recalls that between 200,000 and 250,000 Serbs were expelled during and after the operation, that numerous civilians were killed, and Serbian villages were systematically destroyed.
Special attention is paid to the historical context, the fear of the Serbian community of the rehabilitation of Ustaše ideology in the new Croatian state, as well as the slow and discouraging process of refugee return.
The publication of this text in one of the leading German-speaking media outlets represents an important contribution to the truth, an objective view of historical events, and the cultivation of a culture of remembrance.
